The Drinks Business on Soléance and Mid-Strength Sparkling

The Drinks Business has published a fascinating article on Soléance and mid-strength wines. Mid-strength is emerging as one of the most exciting growth areas in the sparkling wine segment. According to the cited KAM report, this category has long been part of modern drinking habits: 24% of consumers already consciously choose mid-strength wines.

Soléance embodies precisely this evolution: a traditionally produced sparkling wine with 5.0% ABV, aged on the lees for 15 months, and a clear focus on structure, precision, and elegance. The Drinks Business describes Soléance as an example of how artisanal quality and contemporary standards of enjoyment come together.

Patrick Schmitt MW’s assessment is particularly strong. He highlights the fine mousse, lively acidity, and autolytic complexity in both cuvées. He Brut the Brut as fresh, dry, and full of character; the Brut Rosé precise, invigorating, and with a long, lively finish.

To us, it’s clear: mid-strength isn’t just a niche market—it’s a category with a bright future—and Soléance demonstrates just how compelling it can be at the premium level.
